Star Clusters Megaclusters is one of the most unique video slots we’ve had the pleasure of reviewing – and it was developed by the well-known Australian game developer, Big Time Gaming.

Star Clusters Megaclusters was the software provider’s first video slot to use the Megaclusters mechanic – a mechanic which has since been used in a vast majority of their games. Unlike conventional video slots, wins in Star Clusters Megaclusters are formed by matching clusters of symbols – so this can take a bit of getting used to.

Star Clusters Megaclusters has a varying number of symbols and positions, and the game grid can expand to a giant 16X16 reel set, which contains a total of 16 symbols. Players can win up to 23,960X playing Star Clusters Megaclusters, and the graphics of the game are fantastic!

When it comes to RTP and variance, Star Clusters Megaclusters has a decent RTP of 96.54%. This is above the industry average, and it’s what we’ve come to expect from Big Time Gaming.

It’s classified as being a medium-to-high variance game, which is a nice “middle ground” in our opinion. When you first begin playing, you’ll start on a 4X4 grid. If you match a cluster of five or more symbols, they break up into smaller symbols, which increases the total number of symbols on the reels.

What this essentially means is that Star Clusters Megaclusters uses two mechanics during the base game; the cascading symbols, and the splitting symbols. Any win you form expands the size of the game grid and adds new symbols, and it’s possible to unlock the entire screen – massively improving your chances of hitting a big win!

Bonus Features

Star Clusters Megaclusters has a free spins bonus round, and to trigger it, you need to hit five consecutive wins in a row during the base game. Plus, if there are any special gold multiplier wild symbols in view on the triggering screen, these will carry through to the bonus round.
