The Labouchere System is a popular Roulette system, made famous by American players who first begun using it back in the 70’s.
The Labouchere system can be used for even-money bets such as black or red, even or odd and big or small. The general idea behind the system, is to choose an amount of money you wish to play with, before dividing it between a string of ‘positive’ numbers.
The sum of these positive numbers should be equal to the wining amount.
For example, your betting line could look something like this:
1 - 2 - 1 - 3 - 1 - 5 - 2
Now all you need to do is take the number of the far-left hand side and the far-right number, add them together, and you’ll get the amount you need to bet.
So, in the example above, the first bet would be 3 – 1+2 =3, which is where the figure comes from.
If you manage to win using your first bet, you simply cross off both the numbers.
You then use the NEXT numbers from the right and left, so in this case, it would be 2 and 5, meaning you stake 7. If you win, the same process happens again, and you discount these numbers.
If, however, you lose, you then need to add up the amount your just bet, putting it on the right hand side.
This would mean, if you lost the first bet, you would end up with a betting line as followed:
1 - 2 - 1 - 3 - 1 - 5 - 2 - 3
You’ll see that a 3 has been added to the right-hand side of the line, meaning you next bet would be 4. That’s because you still add the left and right numbers together, but this time, you’re using the number you just added. This process continues until you win, at which point you begin a new line and start the betting pattern over again.
Things To Remember
ALWAYS cross away the left and right numbers from your betting line when you manage to get a win. Fail to do this, and you’ll end up in trouble, as the system won’t be working.
When you manage to cross off ALL the numbers, you’ll be in profit.
Similarly, when you DO lose, make sure you add the total amount you’ve just bet onto the right hand side; Again, this is critical to the system’s success, and if you fail to do so you won’t be able to consistently profit from this system.
