The game unfolds on a 5×6 grid, with wooden blocks stamped with graphics as the symbols. It uses a cluster pays mechanic, and wins are achieved by connecting five or more adjacent symbols horizontally or vertically.

The pay table features symbols ranging from A, G, E, R, and T paying out between 0.1x for clusters of 5 or 6, up to 25x for 25+ clusters, to thumbs up symbols rewarding players up to 200x bet for clusters of 25 or more. And no surprises here: the W symbol is the wild and helps form wins by substituting for all symbols except the Free Spins symbol.

Stack ‘Em feature

Clusters formed during the base game present the opportunity for massive wins with the cascade-style mechanic in play! But of course, Hacksaw has put a twist on it. When a cluster win is achieved, it is the non-winning symbols which are removed, and the winning symbols drop to the bottom of the grid. As new symbols drop onto the grid, the cluster can potentially grow for increased payouts, hence the name of the game. 

During this process, multipliers appear underneath the reels with winning symbols. The multiplier corresponds to the number of winning symbols on the column above, with the total multiplier being calculated by adding up the multipliers underneath the respective reels.

Free Spins

Three FS Free Spins symbols trigger the free spins feature, where players start with 5 hearts indicating five lives, and a x1 multiplier.

When winning clusters form, the multiplier at the top of the grid increases by the number of symbols involved in the winning combinations on the reels. During free spins, the Stack ‘Em feature is not active, and non-winning symbols are not removed from the grid. But two new symbols come into play during the round for boosted win potential:

? Symbol: A “mystery” symbol offering extra free spins or an increase in the multiplier.

X Symbol: Winning clusters that connect with the X symbol have the total multiplier applied to the win. Free spins continue until no hearts remain, with a maximum of 5 spins available at any one time.
