Tombstone Slot Demo

The Tombstone slot was one of the first slots by Swedish provider NoLimit City that really caught the imagination of the slot-playing public.

After producing a series of slots with charming graphics and low to medium volatility for the first five years or so of their existence, NoLimit City decided to shake things up a bit. 

The result was Tombstone, a slot with 5-reels and a 2-3-3-3-2 row setup, gritty graphics, extreme volatility and unique bonus rounds.

The shift in direction paid off, with Tombstone quickly becoming a player favourite. Since then, the studio has concentrated on high-volatility games with original and sometimes controversial themes and made quite a name for itself in the process.  

The nine regular symbols in the paytable start with Jack to Ace card ranks. These all give the same payouts, a familiar feature on NoLimit slots, of 0.2x, 0.5x, and 2x the bet for 3, 4, or 5 on a payline. 

These are joined by five premium symbols. There is a six-shooter with bullets and a pair of horseshoes, both worth 0.3x, 0.7x, and 3x the bet. Next comes a back of swag and bars of gold, and again, these two symbols have the same value of 0.4x, 0.8x, and 4x the bet. Finally, the outlaw’s best friend, a bundle of dynamite, is the highest paying regular symbol at 0.5x, 1x, and 6x the bet for combos of 3, 4, or 5, respectively. 

The regular symbols are complemented by not one but three wilds. These come in the form of wanted posters for the three notorious outlaws, Skinny Joe, El Gordo and Edda Star. These can only land on the middle three reels, but not to worry, they do a lot more than just stand in for regular symbols as you will see in the Features section of this review.

Speaking of features, the game also has three special symbols: a regular scatter, a sheriff’s badge, and a marshal’s badge, which all play their part in triggering the bonuses.

Wins are formed by landing 3 to 5 matching symbols anywhere on adjacent reels as long as the combo starts on the first, leftmost reel.

The RTP is a respectable 96.19%, and the maximum potential win is a whopping 11,456x. But this volatility is rated as extremely high, so beware. 

Game Features

The outlaw wilds come in the form of three-position-high wanted posters. This is an important detail because if they land partly on a reel, they will nudge to their full height, increasing the win multiplier by +1 with every nudge. 

The three bonus rounds in Tombstone are triggered by landing combinations of the scatter and lawman’s badges.

Justice Spins

The Justice Spins trigger when a Sheriff and Marshall badge appear on trees 1 and 5. Here, three respins are awarded and any wilds that appear turn sticky.

Gunslinger Spins

Three scatter symbols trigger the Gunslinger Spins feature. These kick off with an initial ten spins, and any scatters landing add +1 to the remaining spins. The gameplay is similar to the base game during the round but with a huge and potentially rewarding difference. The win multiplier, which is increased with every nudge from a wild, does not reset between spins, and there is no limit to how high it can go.

Bounty Spins

Triggering this feature requires a sheriff and marshal badge on the first and last reel, plus three scatters on the grid. Here, the player is awarded 12 initial free spins, with every scatter landing increasing the total. This round combines the features of the Justice, and Gunslinger spins with both sticky wilds and an increasing win multiplier.
