Wild Portals Megaways Slot Demo

Wild Portals is a video slot from BTG that was released in May 2022. It’s one of the game developer’s most funky slots, and the theme is similar to what we saw in Star Clusters and Slot Vegas Megaquads. However, Wild Portals looks to take on more of a futuristic theme – and while the graphics are somewhat basic, they work together pretty well.

Wild Portals is playable from between 0.20 and 20 credits per spin, and in our opinion, it’s one of the best games BTG has put out – mathematically – as despite its high volatility, wins during the base game don’t seem that rare.

Wild Portals has an RTP of 96.58%, and it follows the standard Megaways format. There are six reels, and each reel can contain between two and seven symbols. When all seven symbols land in view, there can be up to 117,649 ways-to-win!

Like we see in most BTG slots, playing card values, including 9, 10, jack, queen, king, and ace represent the game’s low-value symbols. The higher-paying ones are made up from gems, coloured in green, blue, red, and purple – the latter of which is the highest paying one, worth 10X your stake for a 6-of-a-kind combo.

There are also wild symbols – known as Wild Portals – that substitute for all of the game’s paying symbols. We’ll talk about this later, in the “Game Features” section of this review.

Bonus Features

In terms of bonuses and features, Wild Portals has quite a lot going for it – as is the case with most Big Time Gaming slots. The Wild Portals symbols can land on reels two through five, and they are of a 2X2 size.

When they land, they will open up to reveal one of the game’s low-value playing card values, including 9, 10, jack, queen, king, and ace. One of these symbols is then removed, and a multiplier increases by+1. This feature repeats until there are no more of that specific symbol in view on the reels.

If you land three or more of the scatter symbols anywhere in view, you will trigger the main free spins bonus round. You will then be awarded 8 free spins, and any additional scatter symbols in view will award you 2 extra free spins.

During The free spins bonus round, you are guaranteed one of the Wild Portals on every spin – and the multiplier also stays in place, between spins.

This mechanic means it’s usually going to be the latter spins that result in the biggest wins – and if you can get the multiplier high enough, you can end up walking away with some huge payouts. If you manage to land an additional three scatter symbols during the bonus round, you will be awarded 4 additional free spins.
